5 Tips To Keep A Conversation Going

Communication skills are highly valued in the business field. I will be giving you 5 tips to help keep conversations going.

1. Talk about shared interests or something you're both very knowledgeable about.
-It's much easier for everyone to talk about something they enjoy doing.

2. While the other person is talking listen hard to see if you can find any clues for the next talk topic.
- For example: Your friend said that he went to Jimmy John's before he picked up his kids from soccer practice. The next talk topic you could bring up would be: Hey so do you like Jimmy Johns too?

3. Ask a bunch of questions.
-Conversations are carried along by a bunch of questions being stringed up together. When this stops so does the conversation

4. Avoid yes or no questions.
-These are perfectly fine to ask every now and then but continued use of them is bad. Both parties need to be participating in the conversation rather than one of them just pegging the other with a bunch of these questions.

5. Try to compliment something about them and tie a question into it.
- For example: Hey dude I really like your shoes, where did you get them from?

I hope these tips are helpful to you and improve your communication skills.

  1. it's a interesting topic, i am a person who is not good at communication, this article in this regard to help me a lot. In particular, refused to answer yes or no at this tip, because I often answer questions honestly and undermine the sentiments of others, after reading this article I think I need to improve it.
